The Dukes Head focuses on sustainability

Following a UK commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, it’s understandable that those of us here at The Dukes Head have taken the time to evaluate our carbon footprint and decide on an approach that delivers the same, stylish experience you know and love without dangerously compromising the planet.

We’ve made considerable efforts so far and are proud of our success, but that’s not where it ends. There’s a long road ahead and plenty more to do. Our parent company Mitchell’s & Butlers are making small, daily changes for the sake of a better Earth, and are motivated to keep it going through sustainable choices and improvements, focusing on:

o 50% food waste reduction by 2030

o We work closely with FareShare and redistribute surplus food to communities who need it

o Our pubs are powered with 100% renewable electricity

o An incredible 96% of our operational waste is diverted from landfill

o We are founding members of the Zero Carbon Forum with a passionate commitment to reducing our emissions and striving to develop a Roadmap to Net Zero
